Make Me New

I used to have 2 trees in my front yard. One died. We had it removed and I was so grieved by this loss. A year later i realized I never paid attention to the second tree. I never noticed how perfectly the sun set behind it or the way it cast a shadow across the lawn. Sometimes we have to get rid of something old to make room for something new in our lives. And sometimes we can’t even see the beautiful thing or space or idea or opportunity right in front of us because we are so damn fixated on what we think is the “right” focal point. Change seats. Turn around. Stand up. Go outside. Get a new point of view. There may be a gift in your front yard that you just can’t see yet.
