welcome
Something won’t leave you alone. something is asking for your attention.
Ferris Bueller was kind of right when you think about it. If you aren’t paying attention, you miss Something. Yesterday, you saw a tree. Today, you see Eternity reaching out her hand and showing you her face there in the spindly branches or the burgundy leaves. Like Mary Oliver when the grasshopper tasted sugar from her hand. Paying attention. And if you pay attention, you will see Something.
The Hope Story includes the years I lost or gave up what felt like more than everything: my career, my church, my husband’s job, the illusion of financial security. The Spirit pulled back my fingertips one by one, not to take it all from me but to show me the proper form for letting go.
And also of holding on. Holding onto what matters most, what mattered at all. And paying attention, seeing that all along, I already had more than everything.
Then, The Captain announced I was free to move about the cabin, so I unbuckled my seat belt. This new story is about paying attention, about saying Yes when Something calls your name. I hope you’ll join me on the ride.
